INCEPTION

The Gist of the Movie

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb in this Psychological Thriller. Cobb is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction which is stealing a persons secrets within the subconscious, while they dream because this is when the mind is most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a desired man in this treacherous new world, but it has also made him an international fugitive and it has cost him everything he has ever loved.

Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption but the price is completing one last job which could give him his life back. The job is Inception. Instead of the stealing secrets Cobb now has to pull off the reverse with his team of specialists: instead of stealing an idea Cobb now has to plant one. The problem is time.

What I thought my own review

Leonardo DiCaprio performance is mesmerizing. He has the ability to connect with the viewer and his acting is amazing. Himself and Gordon-Levitt connected extremely well and both pulled off great performance. This movie is very deep and Ellen Page helps the viewer understand some of the concepts which otherwise would have blown us away because she is new to the concept herself in the movie, so as she learns the viewer learns. The use of Tom Hardy and Michael Caine as well as Ken Watanabe carry this movie effortlessly. Although most have relatively small roles are very effective and by the end of the movie you will have a connection with all the actors.

The special effects are mind blowing and I have to say are the best I've seen yet.

The plot itself is spectacular. The intricate details are what makes this movie a masterpiece. Everyone in this movie has an important role to fill even though Cobb is the main character. The scenes are precise and delicate. These are hard things to balance in a movie but Christopher Nolan has managed to find just that. He has created a masterclass, and I would describe the plot and the different concepts as artwork.

When I went to see this movie I was expecting a normal action movie, but what I got was much much more. The movie had the ability to tease me and make me think about the impossible becoming possible. Inception makes us think and although the concepts are difficult to understand at first I recommend watching the movie more than once to have a grasp on the concepts and pick up on bits you missed, but I don't think that watching this again will be a problem because it is so good. This heavy deep film is made easier to digest, because of the amazing visuals. When you have finished watching this movie you leave feeling dumbfounded and are left contemplating what has just happened to you. Inception is one of the best I have ever seen and I know my movies.

I rate Inception 10 out of 10

At the end of the movie there's a scene where you see the spinner is spinning however it does not stop, and this tells us that he is still in the dream whuich means he went back for Sato. There is a scene at the end where Sato is talking to Dom Cobb and he picks up a gun and then the scene changes, as you know if you are killed in the dream you can't come back into "reality", Sato musn't of been covinced by Cobb and thought he was an assasin or a thief and therefore shot Cobb, which resulted in Cobb staying in the dream forever and not being able to return to the "real world".
